Delaney Kuennen

COMPANY DIRECTOR

Delaney Kuennen is a studio trained, competitive dancer with eight years in multiple styles of dance including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop and improv. After high school, Delaney attended Northwest Florida State College where she earned an Associates of Arts degree with a concentration in dance. Additionally, she has training with the dance program at the University of Florida.

In 2016, Delaney attended her first masterclass with choreographer Cherrise Wakeham. With an immediate connection, Delaney would pursue training opportunities with Wakeham for the next eight years. Experiences include four years of Summer Workshops in Atlanta and Winter Workshops in Destin, FL. Intensive programs include two audition-entry mentorships. The highlight of her time with Wakeham was a small group trip to New York City where the dancers experienced classes at multiple Manhattan studios. Most recently, Delaney has assisted Wakeham in classroom and choreography settings.

Delaney has also sought out further professional training with a workshop taught by industry professional Galen Hooks. Training with other notable dance artists includes classes with Chehon Wespi-Tschoppi, Mollee Gray, Ezra Sosa, Melissa ‘MJ’ Jackson and Hailee Payne.

The evolution from dance student to teacher came naturally and Delaney now has five years of classroom teaching experience in all ages and genres. She has a passion for sharing her love of dance and teaching others to find that joy.

All of these experiences culminate in Delaney realizing her true path in dance as a choreographer. In the past four years, Delaney has created award-winning solo and group choreography for the competitive stage earning 1st place and Top Ten Overalls, Standout Awards, closing showcase performances and Judges’ Pick acknowledgments. She also has experience setting long-form pieces at the college level.
